200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training

A deeper study of yoga, practice, and the art of teaching.

Lemon Balm Yoga School's 200-Hour Yoga Teacher Training is designed for those who feel called to teach, those who want to deepen their own practice, and professionals interested in thoughtfully integrating yogic practices into their work.

Rooted in the broader tradition of yoga, the program moves beyond learning postures and sequences to explore movement, breath, meditation, philosophy, anatomy, self-awareness, and the art of holding space for others.

More Than a Teacher Training

While this program provides the foundational education and practical experience needed to begin teaching yoga, becoming a teacher is not the only reason to participate.

Some trainees arrive knowing they want to teach. Others come to deepen a practice that has already become meaningful in their lives. Some are helping professionals interested in incorporating breath, mindfulness, movement, and self-regulation practices into the work they already do. Others simply feel called to understand themselves—and yoga—more deeply.

The training creates space for all of those paths.

What You'll Study

  • The Art of Teaching — cueing, class presence, communication, holding space, and developing an authentic teaching voice

  • Asana + Sequencing — postures, variations, transitions, and sequencing for practices ranging from dynamic movement to restorative stillness

  • Anatomy + Physiology — functional anatomy alongside an introduction to yoga's subtle-body traditions

  • Yoga Philosophy — foundational teachings, history, ethics, and the broader context of yoga beyond asana

  • Meditation + Pranayama — developing both a personal practice and the skills to guide others

  • Adaptive + Trauma-Sensitive Yoga — creating practices that emphasize choice, accessibility, awareness, and respect for individual experience

  • Subtle Body + Energy — exploration of traditional energetic frameworks, including the chakra system

  • Self-Awareness + Regulation — embodied practices for cultivating greater awareness, presence, and the capacity to remain grounded

  • Practice Teaching — hands-on experience with sequencing, cueing, meditation, pranayama, and leading complete practices

  • Ethics + The Business of Yoga — professional boundaries, ethical teaching, and practical considerations for working as a yoga teacher

Learning Through Practice

This training is experiential by design. Each training weekend weaves together movement, meditation, pranayama, discussion, study, and hands-on practice.

As the program progresses, trainees gradually step into the role of teacher—practicing cueing, sequencing, leading meditation and breathwork, and eventually guiding complete practices.

Throughout the training, students build a personal toolbox of sequences, meditations, breathing practices, teaching techniques, and resources they can continue drawing from long after the program ends.

The goal is not to create teachers who all teach the same way. It is to give each trainee a strong foundation from which their own authentic teaching voice can emerge.
